Christian Spiritual Direction

What you might like to know about me...
Spiritual direction has been an important part of my own life for over twenty years. In my twenties, direction played a significant role in helping me move from an intellectual understanding of faith to a deeper intimacy with God. In my thirties, spiritual direction helped me discern my own sense of vocation and calling. Today, it's a privilege to offer direction to others, since it has been such a valuable practice to me.

My spiritual direction training is from Fordham University in New York, where I received a Masters in Christian Spirituality and an Advanced Certificate in Spiritual Direction. I have been directing for five years and leading contemplative retreats for three years.
Before becoming a director, I pursued careers in both classical music (opera) and business. Because of this, I enjoy directing men and women from a wide variety of professions. I married later in life, so I understand the gifts and struggles of singleness. I also enjoy working with people who desire healing of “spiritual” wounds from difficult family or church situations that have distorted their image or view of God.

My church background is eclectic. I grew up Presbyterian, and have participated in churches ranging from non-denominational to Episcopalian. Although I'm not Catholic, I have a deep respect for the Catholic church and its wealth of traditions and wisdom.

When I'm not directing, I enjoy gardening, cooking and getting outside with my husband and our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Taco.
